There is 3 months training before the home is transferred to you in order to ensure that you are fully able to take on the responsibilities of care home ownership.
Training

There is 3 months training before the home is transferred to you in order to ensure that you are fully able to take on the responsibilities of care home ownership.
Sales
The role of the owner of the home is to manage and grow the occupancy levels of the home by providing a great person centred service but also continuing to market and develop local relationships to keep the home at full occupancy levels.
So you get fully hands-on in the sales process to understand what homes do to maintain and grow the occupancy levels.
Operational
You will have a Care Home Manager in place as part of the team but you will also need to take over the role as nominated individual for the CQC registration so you will need to be able to understand the operational requirements of running the home and also how you manage the team in place to fulfil those standards.
You get shown and trained in all aspects of the CQC requirements, so fully informed of all policies and procedures.
Finance
Although each home will have a finance assistant in place already (part of your staff team), you will need to ensure that you understand and take responsibility for the financial management of running a care home.
The management of service users bills, staff payroll, supplier and stocks levels across the care home from consumables to food.
